The energy produced by Zilor supplies its industrial plants, making two of them self-sufficient, and the excess is sold to distribution nets that attend household consumers.

In this context, Zilor is one of the pioneers of the sugar-ethanol sector to launch the project Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), as specified by the Kyoto Protocol.
